POA Golf Series Heads to Entebbe After Successful First Leg at Kitante Following a thrilling opening leg at Uganda Golf Club (Kitante), the Pearl of Africa (POA) Golf Series is set to continue its journey with the highly anticipated Entebbe leg. The tournament, which has quickly gained recognition for elevating both amateur and professional golf in Uganda, will tee off on Wednesday, April 2, with the finals set for Saturday, April 5. The first leg at Kitante set a high standard, with impressive performances, a strong turnout, and enthusiastic support from sponsors and the golfing community. The competition saw 20-year-old John Musiimenta clinch victory with a two-over 218, marking a milestone in his budding career. The event was widely praised for its well-organized execution, competitive play, and growing media presence. As the action shifts to Entebbe Club, the competition is expected to intensify. Professionals will battle for top honours, with a cut expected after the second round. Amateurs will also have their share of the spotlight, including a special focus on top-performing ladies, further reinforcing the tournament’s commitment to inclusivity in Ugandan golf. A major highlight of the Entebbe leg will be the introduction of the Junior Challenge, an exciting new addition that will see young golfers take on professionals in a “nearest-to-the-pin” contest. “The POA Golf Series is about creating opportunities for all golfers—professionals, amateurs, and now juniors—to compete at a high level,” said Juliet Anena, Founder of the series. “We saw great enthusiasm from players in the first leg, and Entebbe will only build on that energy with even more competition, entertainment, and exposure.” With expanded media coverage from NBS Sport, the launch of the POA Golf Series Magazine, and a vibrant 19th-hole experience featuring sponsor activations and entertainment, the Entebbe leg promises to deliver an unforgettable tournament.
